I love airports. Trying to guess where people are going or coming from is so much fun! Today was no exception. Check In counters had lineups with languages from across the globe and the constant chatter and echos in the large area became white noise drifting in the background. I ran into someone I know heading to Scotland on the same outbound flight I'm taking. Small world!!
This is the first time I've been in the new area of EIA. It's really great - roomy and lots of light! Staff were really friendly! We made it through customs and security quickly with plenty of time for breakfast.... Or so we thought.....
The express restaurant couldn't keep up with the orders and 40 minutes for a leisurely breakfast soon dwindled to a 10 minute rush before our boarding call - which was well over an hour ago.
We're flying United Airlines and it was amazing how organized boarding was. Seats are in groups which are noted on the boarding pass. When the group is called, off you go. Everyone was onboard and fully seated 15 minutes before the 7:00 departure.......and here we sit, still on the Tarmac at 8:00, waiting for a computer glitch to be fixed. Well, we really didn't want 7 hours of waiting in Newark but this is a mixed blessing.
Wow - an announcement. It looks like the plane is ready to go. Next notes from Portugal! Yipeeee!
Hope your flights were otherwise uneventful and on time. Looking forward to the next entry from "across the pond." Love you!
